DAILY PUZZLE:
To place GameKnot's daily chess puzzle on your own website/blog, simply copy and paste the following source code to your web page. The chess puzzle shown will be automatically updated every day at midnight (PST). The daily puzzle gadget is written using HTML/JavaScript (Web 2.0), so it works in all modern web browsers and your visitors won't be prompted to download or install any third party software (i.e. no Adobe Flash or ActiveX required).

iCHESS VIEWER:
You can use GameKnot's free interactive chess game viewer "iChess" to publish chess games on your own website or blog. Visitors will be able to walk through the game move by move, review comments (for annotated games, optional) and even interact with the board by moving chess pieces right on the page. iChess viewer is written using HTML/JavaScript (Web 2.0), so it works in all modern web browsers and your visitors won't be prompted to download or install any third party software (i.e. no Adobe Flash or ActiveX required). No additional software is required to embed iChess viewer on a web page or use it as a blog widget, other than your usual website/blog editor that can work on a source code level.

How to publish a chess game using iChess viewer:

1. Create a new game (will open in a new window). You can either enter all the moves by hand by moving the pieces on the board, and enter all the comments (optional) by typing them into the edit box. Or you can use "Import PGN" link (near the bottom) to load an existing PGN notation for the game.

2. Use "Edit Info" link (near the bottom) to enter/change the game information, such as the title and the player's names, as desired. Click "Update Info" link to finish editing.

3. Select the desired move to be displayed initially when the page is loaded by clicking on it in the move list, or by using "<" and ">" buttons. You can also flip the board using the "Flip" link. The game will appear on your website/blog the same way your see it prior to the next step.

4. Click on "Web/HTML" link to access the source code to be placed on your website/blog. You can also click on "Customize & preview" button to change the way the game will appear on your website/blog. Your custom settings are stored in the cookies on your computer, so you won't have to do it again when publishing another game later on.

5. When copying the HTML/JavaScript code to your website/blog, please make sure to select the entire text (it can be very large if there are many comments). Please do not modify the code in any way, as it won't function properly if changed. Also, please make sure your HTML/blog editor doesn't automatically modify the code in any way either, such as by inserting <br> tags for the line breaks.

6. Several chess games can be placed on the same page. Also, as we release new versions of iChess viewer with new features and options, it will automatically appear on your website/blog. No need to re-upload anything!

Please note! It has been reported that the preview function in online blog editors does not always work correctly with iChess code. Not to worry, try publishing your post and accessing your blog directly to verify that it worked.
