District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

District 1 (Vietnamese: Quận 1) is an urban district (quận) of Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam. This is the financial, commercial, administrative center of Ho Chi Minh City. The city seat and many consulates general are located here. This district was planned by French architects in French Indochina period. Interesting attaction: Nortre-Dame Cathedral, Saigon Opera House, Central Post Office, City Hall, Pham Ngu Lao Street, former Republic of Vietnam President’s Unification Palace. Most of 5-star hotels and best restaurants are located here.
