Celebrate National Women’s Day on 9^th August at the SA Ladies Open and promote Women in Sport. Special guest Grand Master, Dimitri Reinderman, will be participating in a simultaneous exhibition against the ladies on Saturday 9^th August.
The Ramlodi Masked Masters will be there to challenge the public. On Saturday, see lead actor, Cito (lead singer from pop group Wonderboom) , who played the part of Bobby Fisher in ” Chess the musical”.

Playing Schedule

Ladies Open Prizes – R15000 value

1. R5000 (R2500 cash and R2500 Cresta Voucher)

2. R3000 (R1250 Cash and R1750 Cresta voucher)

3. R1900 (R800 cash and R1100 Cresta voucher)

4^th and 5^th prizes and Age group prizes will be Cresta Vouchers. All participants to receive a prize.

Beat the Grandmaster (Simultaneous) – R300 Cresta voucher if you can beat him or R150 if you can draw a game

Challenge the Masked Master (Blitz) - R250 Cresta voucher if you can beat him

* Cresta vouchers may not be exchanged for cash. Almost anything can be purchased from airtime, travel expenses, clothing, groceries etc.

Entry Fee

R160 per player for Ladies Open. One section for all players. Late entries - R180 per player.

R100 for Simultaneous against the GM. Limited to 20 players on a first come first serve basis. Please email info@gjca.co.za to apply.

Tie break will be based on cumulative for SA Ladies Open Champion title and trophy. For top 3, if joint position, prizes will be shared. Thereafter, for joint positions prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the organizers. All participants will get a prize.

Equipment

Each player to supply a chess set (standard tournament size and colour (white and black/brown) ) wooden or plastic and working chess clock.

required. Players may register at the venue before the first round.

The AGM will take place at 8:00am on Sunday 10 Aug. All representatives and those interested in Women’s Chess are invited to attend.
