Simon is currently undergoing the second phase of chemotherapy for leukemia. After the chemo has destroyed the cancer, a bone marrow or stem cell transplant is needed. The doctors are in search of a suitable donor with the correct tissue type to match that of Simon's. This is extremely difficult to find.

SHARE A LITTLE AND SAVE A LIFE!!
YOU COULD BE SOMEONE’S ONLY CHANCE !

Joining the SA Bone Marrow Registry is one way of helping - possibly not Simon, but some other patient as seriously ill as Simon. In brief this requires:

  • Donors must be between 18 – 50 years
  • Donors must be in general good health
  • With no history of hepatitis or sexually transmitted diseases
  • Donors should weigh over 50kgs
  • Preferably, but not necessarily be a blood donor
  • Donors must be informed
  • Donors must be committed to help anyone

If you are interested in supporting the Sunflower Fund further or would like to find out more about becoming a bone marrow donor & bone marrow transplants please do not hesitate to contact us!
