Test Exercises

These exercises will test and reinforce what you've learned so far, as well as demonstrate more combinational possibilities. Once you're through with them, you should read our "Practicing Tactics" article to show you how to pursue tactical studies further.

Exercise 1: Examine the board below. White can fork Black's Queen and Rook with 1. Nd6, but is it a good idea? Is there a better move for White? [Solution]
