Plymouth Chess Club - Session III

Chess Club
The Chess Club of Minnesotas Plymouth Creek location is a scholastic-only chess club primarily for school age children (grades K-9) in Plymouth and independent school district 284, although other children are welcome.

Why Play Chess?

During this program, kids will play games, learn chess strategies, chess openings, solve chess diagrams and puzzles. Studies have shown chess helps children do better at school because it improves memory and concentration as well as improving discipline and logic skills. Whether your child wants to play in competitive tournaments, or just for fun, they will see lifelong benefits from the game of chess!

The club meets Monday evenings at Plymouth Creek School (16005 - 41st Avenue North, Plymouth, MN), with two separate classes each day. The first class is for standard and novice players, and lasts approximately 50 minutes (5:55 to 6:45 pm). The second class is for intermediate and advanced players and lasts approximately one hour and 15 minutes (6:50 to 8:05 pm).

Each meeting consists of approximately half playing time and half instruction time.

Springs 7-week session starts Monday, April 7, and ends Monday, May 19.
