Golden Celebration Photo Exhibit -- Enjoy a look
at Crab Festival over the last 50 years. A compellation
of community, KHS, and Chamber photos celebrate

Baranov Museum - Located at 101 Marine Way across
from the Ferry Terminal Building, the museum is
a National Historic Landmark originally built by
Alexander Baranov in the early 1800's as a fur warehouse.
Explore the large collection of objects rich in
Kodiak's history, housed in the oldest Russian-built
structure remaining in North America today.
View Aleut, Alutiiq and Russian artifacts, an extensive
collection of hand woven baskets, and 42 albums

Kodiak Football League Flag Football Tournament

launch of the Baranov Museum's new history publication
A Legacy Built to Last: Kodiak's Russian American
Magazin. This richly illustrated book chronicles
200 years of Kodiak history in celebration of the
Bicentennial of the Baranov Museum building - the
oldest building in the state of Alaska and the earliest
documented log structure on the west coast of the
United States. Meet author Sue Jeffrey, enjoy refreshments

The object of this event is to be the last one to
toss the buoy into a floating target farthest from

Womens Divisions). It will be cash prizes for each
age group. Entry fee for 0-12 & 13-17 is $5.00

7:30 p.m.- Lion's Arm Wrestling Championships held
at Tony's Bar on the mall. Weight classes for men

Kenny Peltier and his band are well known for "Fishing

Sunday, May 25
9 a.m. - Chiniak Bike Fun Relay and Race for Multiple
Sclerosis. Scenic 42 mile bike ride beginning in
Chiniak and ending in downtown Kodiak at the Crab
Festival finish line. Gather a team of three for
the relay or tackle the 42 miles on your own. Great
for the whole family and friends. Volunteer road
stations throughout the relay with beverages and
snacks provided by the Kodiak MS Connection. T-shirts
to first 50 registrants and prizes to first male,
female and relay team to finish. The race's Grand
Prize, a Hard Rock XC Mountain Bike, goes to the
individual who raises the most funds for the Kodiak
MS Connection, a local non profit providing information,
educational resources and assistance to patients
affected by MS in Kodiak. $50 Registration fee;
raise $150 for KMSC and fee will be waived by KMSC.

9 a.m. Crab Festival Marathon. This standard 26.2-mile
marathon begins between Silver Beach and Kalsin
Bay and ends at Pier Two. Course record for men
is held by Laddie Shaw, 2:48:20, 1986. Women's course
record is held by Sally Skimin, 3:24:27, 2002. Entry
fee is $15. Trophies for men's and women's 1st,
2nd, and 3rd places. All participants will receive

near the Sawdust Pile on the midway. Sponsored by
Habitat for Humanity Kodiak. This competition tests
the skills of those who swing a hammer for a living
or just think they are the very best at home improvement
projects. The timed events include pounding three
nails into a board, drilling a hole into the board,
and measuring by eye a pre-determined length and

River. The 15th Annual Rotary Fundraiser to benefit

competition. Recipes submitted will be entered in
a first-round preliminary judging. Only one unpublished
recipe per person will be accepted. Three different
categories will be judged: Appetizers, Soups and
