The Dublin Chess Club will be hosting the annual DUBLIN OPEN CLASSIC at the Dublin Chess Club, 3 Fitzwilliam Street, on the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2000. The tournament will be a rated five round open swiss format. All moves to be made in 1 hour 45 minutes per player.
The playing schedule is as follows:
Round 1: 10:00 - 13:30 Saturday
Round 4: 10:30 - 14:00 Sunday
Round 2: 14:30 - 18:00 Saturday
Round 5: 15:00 - 18:30 Sunday
Round 3: 19:00 - 22:30 Saturday
There will be a guaranteed minimum first prize of £200 and a minimum of two grading prizes of £25 each.
Entry fee £15.00 per player, cheques payable to "The Dublin Chess Club". Entries to be received not later than Wednesday 16th August. There is a limit on the number of entrants, so players should ensure that they enter prompty. Players should provide their own boards, clocks and sets.
