Six-Nations Visually-Handicapped Tournament, Bad Hönningen, Germany, 14-16 April 2003

The two-yearly 'Six Nations' team tournament for visually handicapped players took place in Bad Hönningen, Germany, 14-16 April. This tournament, which has been running since the 1960s, enables teams of blind and partially sighted players from different countries to meet in a competitive but friendly environment. This year teams from Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland took part. The teams played each other once, with 2 match points for a win and 1 for a draw.

The very strong German team took first place with 10 points, but the Great Britain team of Colin Chambers (Cheltenham), Les Whittle (Morpeth), Norman Wragg (Sheffield) and Hans Cohn (London) came second equal with France on 6 points. Individual scores were Chambers 3½/5, Whittle 2/5, Wragg 2/5, Cohn 3½/5.
