International Email Chess Group

All IECG members are kindly invited to enter the upcoming IECG cup, the most popular event organized by our club. Last year we had almost 600 participants in the first round! The IECG Cup gives you the opportunity to meet players of all strengths, as the event is completely open. The preliminary round of the IECG Cup 2008 will start on October 1st, 2008 with a yet unknown number of groups, each group consisting of 7 players (so 6 games to play for each one).

For the preliminaries you are given the choice to play either by e-mail or on the LSS server. All details are on the registration page linked below.

The 10th IECG World Championship is over and the winner is Miguel Angel Canovas Pordomingo from Spain. In the final he scored 11 points from 14 games with only six draws and no loss. He kindly accepted our invitation for an interview (conducted by Thomas Niessen) and in addition we offer a commented game. Our warmest congatulations go to Miguel for this outstanding result..

 Presently we are in need of some people to help our webmaster in our "IECG WEB PAGE IMPROVEMENT" project.
 To finish the new layout we need to rewrite our input scripts in php. Also, it's necessary to define the best way to implement all
 pages generated by our Rating Office automatically.

Deadline to confirm participation in the IECG World Championship 2012 Preliminaries, is over.

Email Groups and Server Groups will be created shortly. This event starts on February 15th and you should receive the pairing charts on February 8th. Remember that if you want to play on the server, then you MUST be registered on the Lechenicher SchachServer, otherwise your confirmation will be treated as an email registration.

Please verify the qualification table and take a look to the responses from the invited players. Let me know if you have any doubt or question, specially if you answered to my invitation and you don't see your response in the list.
