I was locked in a bathroom naked for an hour with
just the Bible (details available upon request.) As a tribute to that
day I will pepper this tale with Proverbs.

Poor Richard's Restaurant, Toy Store, Book Store Chess Tournament
4th and Tejon, Colorado Springs, CO
Every Wednesday night, July 2, 2008, 7 PM
Opening - Triple Penguin, Double Full Metal Jacket
Game/85 minutes, 5 second delay
Round 1, Board 1
White - Life Master and Emporer Penguin, ( the largest ) Brian Wall 2200+
Black - Gerard Sunderland, 1400
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A few definitions -
Full Metal Jacket is an opening I invented in Josh Bloomer's
basement:
1.d4 Nc6 2.d5 Ne5 3.e4 e6 4.f4 exd5 5.fxe5 Qh4+ 6.Ke2 Qxe4+
7.Be3 Bc5 8.Qd3 Qxe5 9.Nf3 Qxe3+ 10.Qxe3+ Bxe3 11.Kxe3
In this variation Black retains all eight pawns while sac'ing a
knight for 3 white pawns. All eight pawns corresponds to a fully loaded
rifle or a full metal jacket.
In my game with Gerry Sunderland both players have all eight
pawns after 24 moves, rather rare, even in a Ruy Lopez. That's why I call it
a double Full Metal Jacket.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Penguin was invented by Eric Schiller in Unorthodox
Chess Openings. Nf3, Rg1 - the penguin waddles to g1, moved with
the right pinky.
Double Penguin - Nc3 Rb1 - another penguin waddles one
square to b1, moved with the left pinky.
Triple Penguin - ... Nf6, ... Rg8, another penguin waddles
to g8. Your opponent may not move the penguin with the correct finger, try to
handle that like an adult.

I dedicate this article to three brave Colorado Chessplayers
who have loved and played Chess for many decades despite physical
limitations from birth, Gary Crites, William Chandler and Gerry Sunderland.
I knew Gary as a teenager and he is still active. William gave me my
favorite job ever, ICC webcaster. Gerry has been a member of the
Colorado Springs Chess Club for 35 years. His High School Chess
teammate Bill Weihmiller is still a devoted friend. We all play
together every Wednesday at Poor Richard's Restaurant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alekhine said a Chess artist is frustrated because his
opponent can ruin his brilliancies. I managed in this game to create
high artistry without much help.

Only other Penguin game I know of -

1:24 |
Because I have called, and ye refused; I have
stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; |

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my

1:26 |
I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear
cometh; |

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction
cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. |

reasons. Eight days later I tried it again.

The Penguin by LM Eric Schiller
White loses the right to castle - One would think I intended
0-0-0 to safeguard the King Penguin (second largest), the most colorful with
an orange collar and a bright golden breast.
In both my Penguin games I guarded my centralized King by
trading Queens.
2 ... d6
Stopping 3.g4, which I am not sure is a threat. At
least Black has a knight on f6 I can kick this time if I do get in g4-g5.
3.d4! h6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
13:18 |
Poverty and shame shall be to him that
refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. |

Making a nest for the QB. Fritz 9 likes 4.Qd3!!
stopping that plan.
4.Nc3 Bf5! 5.h3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
17:12 |
Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man,
rather than a fool in his folly. |
26:4 |
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest
thou also be like unto him. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Copying ... h6. I later switch to the right plan of e3
and Bd3 which looks insipid.
5 ... e6!
Gerry made me, co-author Anthea Carson, Chessmaster Josh
Bloomer and How to Play Chess Like An Animal victim Bill Weihmiler laugh by
stating after the game - "How did I end up with the bad bishop from the
Penguin Opening?"
6.g4
In both my Penguin games I played g4 which looks like I am
giving my g1-penguin some play but in both cases I then blocked my rook with
bishops so that the rook became a stationary penguin egg under my feet
incubating for a long time.
6 ... Bg6! 7.Bf4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
13:20 |
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:
but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
IM Joe Fang and I used to play the Grob this way - 1.g4
followed by h3, d4, Bf4 and Bg2.
7 ... Nbd7 8.e3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
28:25 |
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up
strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
8.Qd2! Ne4 bothered me for some reason.
8 ... Nb6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
14:15 |
The simple believeth every word: but the
prudent man looketh well to his going. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems a bit strange- Gerry is a 1400 but plays like a
conservative A-player.
9.Bd3!
Another plan is 9 Qe2, 10 0-0-0, 11 Bg2.
9 ... Bxd3! 10.cxd3
I knew 10 Qd3! was more active but I've always loved the way
this pawn recapture denies my opponents any central knight outposts, healing
the center like a cotton bud soaked in clove of oils.
10 ... Nfd5 11.Bg3 g5
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
17:10 |
A reproof entereth more into a wise man than
an hundred stripes into a fool. |
26:4 |
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest
thou also be like unto him. |
30:12 |
There is a generation that are pure in their
own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is not a 1400-type move, again it is a conservative
A-player type move, neutralizing my kingside buildup which I don't believe
in anyway.
12.e4 Nxc3! 13.bxc3!
I like my central pawn wave preponderance - Josh Bloomer
claims I win half my games by advancing pawn waves and I claim Josh Bloomer
wins half his games by pushing his opponent's pieces to the first two ranks.
13 ... Be7!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
6:6 |
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her
ways, and be wise: |
6:7 |
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, |
6:8 |
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in
the harvest. |
6:9 |
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou
arise out of thy sleep? |
6:10 |
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the
hands to sleep: |
6:11 |
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy
want as an armed man. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
14.a4
Seems natural to kick his knight - the problem is my rook is
stuck on a1 now and I cannot complete the Double Penguin maneuver - Nf3,
right pinky moves penguin to g1 Nc3, left pinky moves penguin to b1.
14 ... a5! 15.Qb3!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
5:8 |
Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh
the door of her house: |
5:9 |
Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the
cruel: |
5:10 |
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be
in the house of a stranger; |
5:11 |
And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are
consumed, |
5:12 |
And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised
reproof; |
5:13 |
And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined
mine ear to them that instructed me! |
5:14 |
I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and
assembly. |
31:25 |
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she

Pressuring the Queenside.
15 ... Qd7
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
7:27 |
Her house is the way to hell, going down to
the chambers of death. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
16.Qb5
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
5:3 |
For the lips of a strange woman drop as a
honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: |
5:4 |
But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a
two-edged sword. |
5:5 |
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on
hell. |
5:6 |
Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are
moveable, that thou canst not know them. |
27:15 |
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and
a contentious woman are alike. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Copying an idea from my first Penguin game - trading queens
reduces the danger to my king who cannot castle kingside - ever. I
also considered running to g2.
Fritz thinks my idea stinks because Sunderland gets a passed
a-pawn after 16 ... Q:b5 17 ab, but I like my central pawn majority more.
16 ... Ra6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
11:29 |
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit
the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
To make ... c6 possible without losing the b6-knight
17.Ke2?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4:27 |
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil. |
20:13 |
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty;
open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread. |
27:8 |
As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is
a man that wandereth from his place. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
To connect my rooks - It is interesting Fritz 9 likes 17.h4!
and 15 ... h5! Fritz also prefers 17.c4!!, e5! or Q:d7+! to my move.
It is hard to create winning chances in an equal position -
I spent six minutes on a move that could have been punished with 17.Ke2? c6!
(avoiding Queen trade) 18.Qb3, b1 or b2 f5!! making my Emperor Penguin
uncomfortable.
Instead Gerry answers with a weird King move of his own as
if I had given him permission by example.
17 ... Kd8?
A strange plan to give the b7-pawn extra coverage.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1:31 |
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their
own way, and be filled with their own devices. |
22:3 |
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth
himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. |
26:5 |
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he
be wise in his own conceit. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
18.Rgb1
IM Vigorito's favorite move but Fritz again prefers 18.c4!!
or 18.Q:d7+!!! K:d7 19.c4!! or 18.Q:d7+!!! N:d7 19.Rgb1!!
18 ... Rf8?
To prepare ...f5 to rattle my cage but 18...c6! or the
immediate 18...f5 are better.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1:17 |
Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight
of any bird. |
22:13 |
The slothful man saith, There is a lion
without, I shall be slain in the streets. |
23:5 |
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is
not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an
eagle toward heaven. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
19.c4
Fritz prefers a plan I did examine - 19 Q:d7+ K:d7 20 Rb5!
but I wanted Gerard to trade Queens so I could win a tempo on his rook.
The idea of 19.c4 is to distract Gerry from playing 19 ...
f5!! which would frighten me enough to trade Queens. If Gerry tries to
prepare ... f5 with 18 ... c6 instead of 18 ... Rf8 then my Queen sac is
even stronger here - 18.Rgb1 c6? 19.Q:a6!! ba 20.R:b6 - Josh Bloomer says
the key to the sac is my iron
control of the b-file, the only current outlet for Sunderland's major
pieces.
Black is fine if I don't sac my Queen after 18.Rgb1 c6?
19.Qb3? or Qb2?? f5!!.
I had trouble guessing Gerry's first 20 moves and his next
one shows we were on different wavelengths. That's why I am so proud
of this game - I couldn't figure out what Sunderland was doing but I created
my own fireworks display.
19 ... Kc8
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4:19 |
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they
know not at what they stumble. |
21:16 |
The man that wandereth out of the way of
understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. |
28:1 |
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the
righteous are bold as a lion. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Consistent - nine minutes spent.
20.c5!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
3:29 |
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing
he dwelleth securely by thee. |
29:9 |
If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man,
whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was ecstatic I didn't have to deal with ... f5 ideas.
20 c5 dc 21 dc c6?? 22 Q:a6!! ba 23 R:b6!
is a devastating version of my Queen sac because my g3-bishop covers b8 and
I can double rooks if
necessary.
20 ... c6
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1:19 |
So are the ways of every one that is greedy of
gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof. |
25:19 |
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of
trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. |
26:27 |
Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and
he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
21.Qxa6!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
2:16 |
To deliver thee from the strange woman, even
from the stranger which flattereth with her words; |
2:17 |
Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the
covenant of her God. |
2:18 |
For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the
dead. |
2:19 |
None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of
the paths of life. |
20:23 |
Divers weights are an abomination unto the
LORD; and a false balance is not good. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walter Smith found this move immediately last night.
Two minutes spent.
Brilliant, sound, charming, amusing, flashy and a complete
shock to Gerry. The Fishing Pole and The Godfather have taught me that
no price is too high for a bodyguard.
Objectively 21.Qb2!!! may be stronger - My queen is both
attacking b7 and may also arrive at e5 - My c-pawn is attacking the
b6-knight and d6-pawn - my b1-rook and g3-bishop support the attack.
Gerry is too overloaded on d6 and b7 to save his knight -
21.Qb2 dc 22.dc Na8 23.Ne5 Qc7 24.Ng6 wipes him out. Gerry's best hope
is to throw the knight away and zap me with ... f5 - 21 Qb2 dc 22 dc f5 23
cb f4 24 Bh2 and I have an extra piece but it is hard to activate - I can
react violently with 21.Qb2 dc 22.dc f5 23.Ne5 Qd8 24.cb f4 25.Ng6 Bf6 26.e5
Rg8 27.N:f4!? but in most cases I end up with a silly-looking extra bishop
on h2.
The whole point of 19.c4 is to distract Gerry as much as
possible from ... f5 counterplay, even at the cost of my Queen.
21 ... bxa6!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
21:5 |
The thoughts of the diligent tend only to
plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
22.Rxb6! Bd8!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trying to stop 23.Rab1 which refutes almost any other move.
22.R:b6 f5 is too late now - 22.R:b6 f5 23.Rab1 Qc7 24.cd
B:d6 25.B:d6 Q:d6 26.Ne5! and I am crashing through on c6. 26...Q:d4
27.R:c6+ Kd8 28.Rb8+ Ke7 29.Rb7+ or Ng6+ both kill.
Erecting a barricade with 22.R:b6 e5 fails miserably to
23.Rab1!!! or cd!!, not to mention 23.d5!, de! or R:a6
I can use all my favorite pawn wave sealer sweeper themes
after 22.R:b6 Qc7 23.Rab1!!! f6 24.d5!!! ed 25.Nd4!! and Sunderland's
position is a sick mess.
After 22.R:b6 Qc7 23.Rab1!! Rd8 both active and passive
moves win - Gerry has no counterplay and I can increase the pressure many
ways - 24.R:a6, Kd2, R1b2, Kd1, Ne5, cd, d5, Kf1, R1b3 all win comfortably
Another fun line- 22.R:b6 Qc7 23.Ne5!! de 24.B:e5 Q:b6 25.cb
lands me in a pawn up ending.
I used to believe Chess beauty was the sole property of the
Grandmasters but now I wonder how any Chessplayer can close his eyes to so
many sea creatures right under the waves. My queen sac has unleashed
an underwater kingdom of endless delights. Think of Chessmasters as
scuba divers or penguins diving for fish.
22 Rb6 Rd8 23 d5!!!! ( 23 Rab1!!! and others work as well )
ed 24 Rab1!!!! or Nd4!!!! are interchangeably devastating.
22 ... Bd8 is the only way to slow down my attack at all.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
23.Rab1!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
4:7 |
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get
wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. |
4:8 |
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to
honour, when thou dost embrace her. |
4:9 |
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of
glory shall she deliver to thee. |
26:11 |
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool
returneth to his folly. |
26:12 |
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more
hope of a fool than of him. |
30:2 |
Surely I am more brutish than any man, and
have not the understanding of a man. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Six minutes spent.
I thought that 23.B:d6 B:b6 24.B:f8 was forced but it seemed
to kill my attack so I searched for another way. I was in excelsior
forward sac-sac mode and again I rejected a powerful retreat to b2 - 23.Rb2
Bc7 24.Rab1 and my attack is overwhelming - retreating the rook is worth the
tempo. I will crash through with 25.cd next move because 24.Rab1 dc
25.Rb8+ mates.
Even here Gerry can try to put my extra bishop to sleep -
23.Rb2 Bc7 24.Rab1 f5 25.cd f4 26.dc Q:c7 but I think I have many winning
ideas here including throwing the bishop away with 27.Ne5 fg 28.fg with a
crushing attack.
I admit I spent almost no time on 21.Qb2!!! or 23.Rb2!!!
because I wanted to win through magic.
It occurred to me that Gerry's bishop might be worth more
than my a1-rook. It also occurred to me this might be the ultimate Penguin
moment - not only do I get to sac a Queen and a rook but 23.Rab1!!!! also
completes the Double Penguin - Nf3, Rhg1, Nc3, Rab1. What more could I
ask for? I slid the rook over with my left pinkie.
23 ... Bxb6!

interesting.
24 ... Qa7

5:23 |
He shall die without instruction; and in the
greatness of his folly he shall go astray. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1900-strength 1400 cracks but there wasn't anything good
- 24 R:b6 e5 fails to keep me at bay -
24 ... e5 25 cd f6 26 de is overwhelming
I examined: 24 R:b6 Kc7 25 R:a6 Kb7 26 Rb6+ Ka7 27 B:d6 Q:d6
28 cd K:b6 29 Ne5 and it looked good for me. Again I can retreat a
piece to b2 - 24 R:b6 Kc7 25 Rb2 e5 ( trying to avoid B:d6+ and Ne5 ) and I
have fun ideas - 26 cd+ K:d6 27 N:e5 or 26 N:e5 de 27 B:e5+ or 26 de and my
next move will be 27 ed+ with a hammerlock since 26 de de 27 B:e5+ Kd8 28
Rb8+ or Bd6 ends it.
24 R:b6 Kc7 25 Rb2 Ra8 26 B:d6+ Kc8 27 Ne5 and it's sick how
helpless Gerry's Queen and rook are compared to my rook, bishop, knight and
pawns. The central pawn mass smothers like a blanket.
The Black Fire gets no oxygen.
24 R:b6 Kc7 25 Rb2 Rc8 26 B:d6+ Kd8 27 Ne5 Qa7! 28 Rb8!!
R:b8 29 N:c6+ Kd7 30 N:a7 Ra8
trapping my knight but 31 d5!! R:a7 32 Bb8! Ra8 33 c6+ Kc8 34 Be5 and Gerry
cannot hold out much longer against my pawn wave.

Breaking the double Full Metal Jacket gridlock - both sides
have clung to all their pawns so far - this game has everything.
Current threats - B:f8, Rb8+, R:c6+, Ne5:c6.
This game combines Brian Wall Chess (weird opening, sacs,
pawn waves) with Josh Bloomer Chess
(stifling all counterplay, reducing opponent to the first two ranks, pushing
his opponent backwards onto a waiting room couch.)

Awesome response -
since the position is hopeless Gerry completes the Triple Penguin,
the equivalent of the triple axel in ice skating.

I gave a lecture on this game at the Chapel Hills Borders in Colorado
Springs
where Walter Smith, Duwayne Langseth, Anthea Carson and I try to teach Chess
to
kids. I sold about 20 How to Play Chess Like An Animal books there
myself -
Borders finally agreed to carry my book so now there are 20 of them in the
kids
section where we play Chess. I had no luck last night trying to get them to
move half the books to the Chess section. At this point in the lecture I put
three stuffed penguins on top of the demo board to represent the Triple
Penguin.

17:17 |
A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. |
21:22 |
A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty,
and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. |
Proverbs, King James Bible

Gerry's pieces are like penguins huddling for warmth
on an Antarctic ice floe, waiting for summer.

12:15 |
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes:
but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. |

11 minutes spent.
I can win easily in many ways, for example, 29.Ne7 R-any 30.Bc5
hangs onto everything but I was loathe to let the game go and stop creating.
Why not invent an endgame study? -
The idea is to give up my knight for no reason,
advance my pawns until his King and rook are immobilized
and then lollygag around with my King creating threats everywhere.
Sample Line -
29.Bc7 K:c6 30.d5+ ed 31.ed+ Kb7 32.d6 Kc8
Gerard's King holds my pawns, freeing his rook.
33.Kf3 Rh8 (waiting because 33...Re8? loses to 34.b7+ K:b7 35.d7)
34.Ke4 Re8+ 35.Kf5 Re2 36.K:f6 R:f2+
37.Kg6 Rf3 38.K:h6 R:h3+ 39.K:g5 R:d3 40.Kf6 Ra3
41.g5 R:a4 42.g6 Rf4+ 43.Kg5 Rf2
and we might get a queen versus rook ending after
44.Bd8 K:d8 45.b7 Rb2 46.g7 Kd7 47.Kf5 K:d6 48.g8(Q) R:b7
Gerry might be able to improve the above line by going
after my a4-pawn first. Then I thought it might be
better to delay activating Sunderland's rook by advancing
my king and kingside pawns before opening any files with d5+.
Maybe I can win a tempi or two by keeping him gasping for air.
29...Kxc6 30.Ke3!!

3:13 |
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
and the man that getteth understanding. |
3:14 |
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver,
and the gain thereof than fine gold. |
20:2 |
The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion:
whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul. |

6:12 |
A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a forward mouth. |
6:13 |
He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet,
he teacheth with his fingers; |
6:14 |
Forwardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually;
he soweth discord. |
Proverbs, King James Bible

The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold;
therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. |

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
22:11 |
He that loveth pureness of heart,
for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Notice how useless Gerry's rook is compared to the
30.d5+ line where he is gobbling up all my pawns.
32 ... exf5!

10:2 |
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing:
but righteousness delivereth from death. |

16:25 |
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. |
Proverbs, King James Bible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
GS finally gets a little play but my central armada is rolling big time -
my pawns remind me of baby penguins when they are abandoned by their
parents on the ice floe and they just hang out until it is time to jump
into the ocean and find food on their own for the first time.
34.d5+!!!
Time for the first dip in the ocean

A poor man that oppresseth the poor is

This game made me incredibly happy.
It was fun going over the game with
Gerry, Anthea Carson, Josh Bloomer and Bill Weihmiller.
Gerry laughed a lot in the post-mortem. I told him
all my ideas were probably unsound but I don't remember
enjoying a game more. Beating or drawing higher rated
players gives some satisfaction but this game was more
painted than played. I carried the scoresheet around
like other people flash you camera phone pictures.
