King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella (Sierra On-Line, 1988)

Another ground-breaking member of the series, King's Quest IV introduced vastly improved graphics and professionally composed music, which, instead of taking away from the gaming experience, actually added to it. With real beginning and ending movies (with several in-between to help move the plot along), this game is much more distinguished than the other games in the series and definitely worth your time, even after numerous graphical and technical advances. The biggest problem with the game is that the plot doesn't really develop--it is spelled out at the beginning, and you basically just have to carry it out in five different quests. Other than that, a pretty good game.
