Nord and Bert Couldn't Make Head or Tail of It (Infocom, 1987)

Certainly one of Infocom's most curious adventures, Nord and Bert Couldn't Make Head or Tail of It is divided into eight or nine seperate chapters, none of which are connected to each other, and which are only barely a part of the main plot. This was basically a puzzle game, somewhat of a text-only pregenitor to The 7th Guest, with each of the individual mini-adventures consisting of a different play on words, such as spoonerisms in one section, homophones in another, or similar things of that nature. For being a puzzle game, Nord and Bert succeeds beautifully, as quite a few of the word games you must play are difficult and not at all obvious. But, as it isn't truly an adventure, it is certainly not a good example of Infocom at its best.
