SimCity: The City Simulator (Maxis, 1987)

Maxis' first and best product, SimCity was a magnificent game with astoundingly good graphics (for the time period) and a very sophisticated gaming system. The object of the game was simple: build a city and make it grow as much as it can. There was no real goal, no way to win, but it was a very fun and entertaining game nonetheless, and paved the road for many other similar types of simulations. There were many things to do, and many things to build, and if you ever wanted a type of story, there were several different scenarios that you could run which did have a specific goal and certain win conditions. A classic game, and a very well-designed one, this game is good for anyone.
