Stationfall (Infocom, 1987)

The sequel to Planetfall, Stationfall told a more involving and developing story, though the ties to Planetfall and the similarity of the technology clearly define it as a relative of that game. Floyd is back, and he is somewhat less annoying this time, although he is quite a bit less useful. He is only with you throughout about half of the game, though the second half does not deal exclusively with searching for him, which is surprising. Nevertheless, Stationfall is much more involved, complicated, and difficult than Planetfall with highly raised stakes and the improvement of the technology and interface used by Infocom since Planetfall. For a challenging adventure, or for a much-improved sequel to Planetfall, check out this game.
