Super Tetris (Spectrum Holobyte, 1991)

Another sequel to the best-selling Tetris, Super Tetris uses the same original theme in a different way, to create a new challenge. Though the basic goal of removing lines from a pit using different combinations of blocks is the same, now they are removed in order to form pictures from the cleared rubble (which begins when you do on each level). Added features, such as special bricks which allow for removal of lines or the addition of extra pieces to your bank (each level must be completed with a certain number of pieces), and bombs which help to remove the rubble quickly, make Super Tetris a fun, and somewhat addicting game on its own terms. Though obviously a relative of the original Tetris, Super Tetris stands quite well on its own, too.
