Treasures of the Savage Frontier (SSI, 1992)

The sequel to Gateway to the Savage Frontier, Treasures of the Savage Frontier returns the party to the Savage Frontier where they must unlock the secrets behind the forces that are splitting the towns of the Savage Frontier apart. The plot is fairly interesting, but it is marred by an extremely linear structure that makes individual exploration and discovery practically non-existent. Combat in this game, while still excessive, has been toned down from other offerings in the Gold Box series, and has some new innovations of its own, such as the adding of reinforcements to the many battles in the game. While mildly interesting, Treasures of the Savage Frontier will be enjoyed more by fans of the Gold Box series than by anyone else.
