I'm learning to play as white against the Pirc Defense. The Pirc looks a lot like the Sicilian Dragon. So can the Yugoslav Attack also be used on the Pirc Defense?
You can play the Austrian Attack with White pawns at e4,d4 and f4.
The Yugoslav Attack does not translate. No such transpositions are possible.
You can play something roughly similar (the system with f3 and Be3). You can even--if you want to get a bit radical--try 3 h4 against the Modern; it worked against me once as Black in a USCF game (I was lost by move 8, as I recall).
What are some other openings vs. the Pirc? It is my friends favorite and I need to learn to crush him!
