Study Links Gene Variant in Men to Marital Discord

Men are more likely to be devoted and loyal husbands when they lack a particular variant of a gene that influences brain activity, researchers announced yesterday -- the first time that science has shown a direct link between a man's genes and his aptitude for monogamy.

Does that gene apply to a man's aptitude to sleep with his mother?
I suspect one case where the grandpa, father and son all slept with their own mother. And the father was done by his grandmother as well.

I still think it's more nurture than nature: if your parents stayed married you will probably take marriage more seriously.

"Mens Jeans Determine If He Will Cheat."

Depends on if they are on or off. Keep them on, no cheating. Get it?

Sorry, I just can handle only so much junk science.

One study. Still a long way to go.

Let's learn all we can about this, the truth shall make us free. And let's not be quick to shirk individual responsibility, integrity, and human decency, just because "...it's in my DNA" or
"...the devil made me do it".

The people that did this study were probably feminist scientists that watch way too much of the lifetime channel.

I'm having trouble opening the page with the full story.

Is the gene a sex-linked trait?

Is it on the Y chromosome?

or is it on the X chromosome?

Or is it on one of the autosomal chromosomes?

So is this confirming Darwin's theory about males of the spiecies "tending to roam"?

Just when femenist science was doing such a great job at comparing women to the "Lagur Monkeys" of India and their promiscuous female mating habits. Just to ensure not all of their offspring are murdered by the jealous alpha males.

Now we've gone full circle and men are uncontrollable root rats again. Yay!

Oh great. Give men another excuse to cheat. Sorry, Honey, I couldn't help myself. It's generic.

Just another justification. It wasn't my choice, I was genetically predisposed to cheat. Does that mean that they're going to do away with infidelity as an excuse for divorce? I mean, if it's not your fault...

Oh, well, yeah. That explains it all perfectly.
Women scientists aren't really scientists and have to watch telivision to get their answers.
They aren't smart enough to be "real" scientists.
Go back to school. Get your head out of your bible/crotch and get a life.

Even if this were true, something like this could be affecting women as well.

However I don't think people should use their genetics as an excuse for bad behavior.

People who can't keep it in their pants or keep their legs closed and can't refrain from cheating shouldn't be getting married it's that simple. If you want to be a bachelor/bachelorette all your life then nobody's stopping you. But once you get married that is a committment. You shouldn't make promises you can't keep.

The insurance companies are funding these studies, the information will be used to determine your premiums...Just like that discount-card at the grocery store, the insurance companies tally-up how much fat you eat, beer you drink, medications, etc...

hahahahah you never know. I think that was a waste of money and money could have been used for better needs.

And the GUYS who conducted this research immediately rushed home and shared the results with their wives.

"See honey, it's not my fault! I have no control over my behavior. I've been sleeping around like a stray dog because I'm just genetically "wired" that way."

Their wives threw the study in the garbage can and their husbands out of the house.

What a noxious pile of horse$hit!

"I have no more self-control than a stray dog, hyena, water buffalo, alleycat, chimpanzee, goat, rhinocerous, horse, giraffe, elephant, leopard, mountain lion, orangutan, lemur, grizzly bear, chipmunk, rabbit, gorilla or rutting forest creature or jungle beast."
