Nagin probably doesn't want residents to return because he has to give his corrupt police force some more time to "LOOT" the homes and businesses of the people who were mandated to evacuate under Nagin's orders in the first place.

Smart on his move. Make sure everything is okay and livable. L.A. has been through enough with the hurricanes.

I can't believe this guy is still the mayor after what happened last time.

If I was a resident of New Orleans, I'd take his instruction to heart. In fact, I'd never come back.

It's not hard for him to still be mayor when you are more or less running against nobody. At least Blanco is out.

What really stinks is all the "homies" should now be considered "roadies"... does that mean they have to get it on with the fat bass player in Nagin's band first to sleep with Nagin?

The leves were weakening that's why he said it.

They never fixed those things completely. They need to be totally redone and replaced, not just reinforced.

My opinion only, but I don't think New Orleans needs to build back up. That place was filled with all kinds of corruption over many years.
I'd like to see it as a small city with limits on its growth. It's going to cost a lot to keep sending help down them, evacuating people, etc.

This has nothing to do with race. It's about NO's location, history.

L.A.= Los Angeles, I don't think they are in any hurricane danger.

LA = Louisiana.

Turn the whole lower 9th ward into parks ,golf courses,and recreational areas.It's just a matter of time till Katrina comes calling again.
