Ike forces evacuations; Texas coast vulnerable

Evacuations were taking place along the Texas coast Thursday as Hurricane Ike was forecast to make landfall late Friday or early Saturday. Ike could slam the coast as a Category 3 storm, and people who choose to ride it out "will absolutely be on their own," Brazoria County Sheriff Charles Wagner said. full story
