Open European Shogi Blitz Championship:
- participation of players without age and performance limitations
- 7 rounds by Swiss system
- 2 x 8 min. + sudden death, without handicap
- material prizes
- starting fee 3,5 EUR (tea or coffee during the play inclusive)
- youngsters up to 18 years of age, seniors over 65 years of age and women have 1 EUR discount
- players accommodated at the Labe hotel and Euro hotel have starting fee gratis
European Shogi Championship (ESC)
- participation of 32 best European shogi players -according to ELO July 1, 2008 (those present before the start of the first round)
- 5 rounds by predetermined knock-out system (in 1st round: 1st against 32nd, 2nd against 31st etc.)
- as soon as an ESC participant loses during first 3 rounds, he will drop to the WOSC (keeping points scored in the ESC)
- winners of ESC round 4 will play the ESC finals, the losers will play for the third place
- all players participate in the WOSC during rounds 6-9
- 2 x 45 min. + 40s byoyomi, without handicap
Worldwide Open Shogi Championship (WOSC)
- participation of players without age and performance limitations
- 9 rounds by Swiss system
- 45 min. + 40s with byoyomi, without handicap
Starting fee for ESC and WOSC:
- starting fee 16,5 EUR (tea or coffee during the play inclusive)
- youngsters up to 18 years of age, seniors over 65 years of age and women have 6 EUR discount
- players accommodated at the Labe hotel and Euro hotel have starting fee gratis
Prizes for ESC and WOSC: cups, medals and material prizes
