patzer2: Zsuzsa Polgar's 29. Qh5! is a great example of undermining an overworked piece. Black's Queen cannot protect itself, the isolated pawn and the Knight, and so is forced into a lost position with 29...Qxh5 30. Rxh5 (where the Knight is now overworked).

The followup 31. Rh7! is also impressive, creating a series of pins to forces the win of a piece. In the final position, White wins after 35...Bf8 36. Rh8! Rc8 37. Rxf8 Ng6 38. Bc6+ Kb8 39. Rxc8+ Kxc8 40. Bxd5 .

tamar: The link has changed and is now in the archived section. http://www.chesscafe.com/text/polga... This was the match USA versus Hungary, where she was matched against her former team-mate Madl.

2004 Calvia Chess Olympiad: GM Susan Polgar received death threats at the start of the Olympiad for her not to play against Hungary. She played and won against former Hungarian Olympiad teammate Ildiko Madl.

Nov-07-20  Cheapo by the Dozen: The pun is surely a reference to the Abbott & Costello "Who's On First" routine. Unfortunately, in that routine "I Don't Know" was on third, not second.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Ida Nose on third...
Nov-07-20  Brenin: It's instructive and impressive how White uses the weakness of Black's f pawn to undermine her position. At the end, the P is still there, but Black's position is in tatters.

OhioChessFan: Alas, 'twould be one of the best groaners ever, but for the point <Cheapo> raises.
Nov-07-20  morfishine: A pity, the submitter had a striking opportunity

he just had to lineup the right position

alas, he fouled this one up

(since I don't know's on third)

There's always tomorrow to make a new pitch

At least the game quality more than meets minimum standards, so thats good
