I live in Utah, but I'm simply a hobbyist. I love playing through great chess games, and I will play occasionally online, but if I had a rating, I'm afraid it would probably only contain 3 digits.

   Feb-08-08 K Kalantar vs Petrosian, 1946 (replies)

Oginschile: Looks like 29... Bf6 30. Ng5 Nxf5# is the mate? Am i missing something?

Feb-07-07 Jobava vs Bareev, 2003 (replies)

Oginschile: I'm not being picky, it doesn't bother me, but in the spirit of accuracy, 20... Nxe5 is not correct notation due to the previous correction 19. Ng5 instead of 19. Ne5. This is a very deep game. I've been looking at it for half an hour now and I feel I could go on looking at it ...

   Feb-01-07 Prins vs L Day, 1968 (replies)

Oginschile: I'm wondering about this. In the book Learning from the grandmasters, Mr Day stops the game transcription at 28... Qe4+, and gives the resulting moves as the plausible finish. I don't have the book in front of me, but I have read his notes on it many times, and I believe he said ...

   Oct-21-06 Stein vs R Hartoch, 1969 (replies)

Oginschile: 36. Qd6 mates after either 35... Kxd7 or Kf7

   Oct-20-06 Topalov vs Illescas-Cordoba, 1995

Oginschile: My how one move can change the complexion of the game. I generally don't see very deep into positions, but I would have been liking black's position quite a bit before 22. Rxf4!. After that, even a schmuck like me can see that white has turned the tables... though i'd probably ...

   Oct-13-06 Kramnik-Topalov World Championship Match (2006) (replies)

Oginschile: Not sure I see the point to all the hate posts here. It's too bad to see "chess fans" spewing such ugly comments about one or both of the best contemporary chess players out there. They had a good match, hard fought. Kramnik ended up on top. Period. I think it would have been ...

Oginschile: Eric, I'm playing najdorf in as many games as I can this week in your honor. Get well soon.

   May-17-06 M Bagdasarova vs K Rybenko, 1998 (replies)

Oginschile: Ah, thank you Crafty, you answered before I even got the question out.

Feb-18-06 Svidler vs Topalov, 2006 (replies)

Oginschile: <the end> lol.

   Feb-11-06 Nakamura vs R Felgaer, 2006 (replies)

Oginschile: *DISCLAIMER* My previous post was not meant to be an excuse for some of Fischer's antics, some of the things he has said and done are despicable and are forgiveable in my view.
