| Averageguy: For the most part it looked as though short was going to win a fine game. Ah well, I guess the moral is that id doesn't end till it ends. |

| Poisonpawns: Amazing game |

| AlexanderMorphy: well the pun says it all...i really think that short should have won this game..what does fritz say? |
|

| aw1988: 24. Qf6 and 38. Bd4. |

| offramp: <pratik.p.patil: how i loged out ?> Personally I never "log out", but you can do so on the Home page, http://www.chessgames.com/ on the far right-hand side, near the top. |

| The Phantom: What an extremely agressive game by Short!! |
|

|
| notyetagm: <The Phantom> Yes, a shame that Nigel did not win it. It would have been one of the all-time most brilliant victories if he had. |
|
Jun-08-06 |
| The Phantom: In some way is not fair the way Short got smashed by Kasparov in this match, he had winning positions but coudnt convert them, and in spite of the draw, a great game. |

| TylerD: WMD: "Topalov and Anand have given him the most trouble". If you are talking about Kasparov I must say I think you are wrong.
K dominated both S and A quite convincingly.
The only players, in fact, that I think K did not dominate in such a way - was Karpov and Kramnik. |

| Topzilla: This is the kind of games i like. Too sad Nigel didnt convert what it seemed a win. |
|
Jun-24-06 |
| MindRotorVia: <says something for Kasparov that even this brilliant an attack was not enough for Nigel to win> i would have loved to see Short winning, is a really astonishing game. |

| Bufon: Short should have seen the draw.
A fantastic game, one of the most wild attacks i have ever seen on a Sicilian. |

And I am not talking about the 2000 match or hed-to-head classical score. If u play their games from 97 u will see who is confident and who is scared. |

He was talking about the sicilian exclusively. Kramnik does not enter the equation. |

| vonKrolock: <Helloween: Instead of 24.Rxf7+, 24.Qf6 Rh7 25.Rf5 was winning.> Not long after the match, Gliksman, from California, showed a very complete analisis of 24.f6; about 24...h7 - The winning continuation would be 25. h6!, and now:
a) 25...h6 26.h6 e7 27.f5 e8 28.f6! etc, or
b) 25...g8 26.f5 c6 (best) 27.g5 h8 28.g7 g8 29.e5 f8 30.d6 e8 31.e1 d7 32.e7! etc and wins |

| WhiteRook48: Kasparov must have been wondering what Short looked like when he was drawing him.
The game should have been Shorter |
