Zenchess: He deserves to be better known. Even at 60+, he plays uncompromising chess and sharpens the game as much as possible. Like Korchnoi, he defies age and continues to play at a 2500+ level.
Feb-15-05   WTHarvey: Here are some crucial positions from Victor's games not shown here http://www.wtharvey.com/kupr.html

Feb-15-05   WTHarvey: You're very welcomed! :-) Thanks to chessgames.com, I can bring it into the 21st century.
Feb-15-05   Mameluk: This is some less succesful Morozevich. Unbeliavable player, great openings.

refutor: i'm a big fan of his book "beating the caro-kann"
Aug-26-05   uladzik: "VIKTOR KUPREICHIK (born Jul-03-1949) Russia" - the native country listing is wrong. He is from Minsk, Belarus.
Oct-29-05   Whitehat1963: <uladzik> Are we sure Kupreichik wasn't born in 1849? He plays like a 19th century player.

TheBB: "talpa" on FICS played this fireworks draw against Kupreichik, and presented it in a lecture there:

Draw offered by black in severe time trouble. Let me know if you want his comments (talpas that is).

May-11-07   alshatranji: "Draw offered by black in severe time trouble."
Doesn't the heading say "unrated untimed match"?
Jun-06-07   russep: This guy is amazing he played his first serious game of chess when he was only 1 years old
Jun-06-07   Tomlinsky: <According to this, he played a game when he was 1!!!>

It's not that impressive really, he lost. Not only that but the event appears to have traumatised him into becoming a QGA and Slav adherent thereafter.
