John McCain’s alleged NEED to participate in the bailout hearings this week was a JOKE! The man does not appear to possess either the knowledge or intelligence to offer any credible input insofar as this or any form of negotiations are concerned, as was evidenced by his performance tonight. He did not have the courage to look his opponent in the eyes and he grossly underestimated Obama’s foreign policy knowledge, resulting in a LOSS during tonight’s debate. It’s no wonder McCain’s popularity ratings are rapidly declining in the polls – the guy is out of touch on economic issues as they pertain to the vast majority of Americans and he is COMMITTED to continuing the war in Iraq (for possibly 100 years), despite the DEVASTATING fiscal impact it continues to have on our economy . He is a major hypocrite when it comes to veterans by claiming his intense devotion to them, yet failed to support the recent G.I. Bill. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I do not want a liar, a coward or a controlling and manipulating individual bearing the title of President of the United States for another 4 years. John McCain has presented himself to the American people as possessing each of those character traits. He’s no maverick - he represents straight up “old school” politics. We need and deserve “Change We Can Believe In”– we need Barack Obama for president! Obama has demonstrated his calm, self-confident and open-minded approach to the issues that face the American people, and was unafraid (unlike McCain) to appear before the American people tonight and share his vision for our country and his plan for how the issues we now face (e.g., economic, environmental, foreign policy, etc.) will be handled under his administration. Also, unlike McCain, Obama has demonstrated he possesses the integrity, the intelligence and the temperament to best represent the interest of the American people at home and abroad. Obama: Smart, knowledgeable in foreign affairs, in tune with the fears, concerns and needs of middle class America; McCain: Out of touch! This is your choice: You are The Boss at a big international company... which team would you hire? With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing federal spending, mortgage crisis, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an unusually critical election year. Let's look at the educational background of your two options: Obama: Occidental College - Two years. Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a specialization in International Relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude & Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science. Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.) vs. McCain: United States Naval Academy - Class rank 894 of 899 & Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism Fishing and Hunting License Now, which team are you going to 'hire'?

Try chewing on this instead of the slime you are regurgitating: I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.... If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic, different.' Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers -- a quintessential American story. If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim. Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track and you're a maverick. Graduate from Harvard Law School and you are unstable. Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded. If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become Chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services Committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience. If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the City Council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 6,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive. If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian. However, if you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, then left your disfigured wife and married heiress Cindy the very next month, you're a Christian. If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of American society. If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible. If you require rape victims to pay for their own “rape kits,” advocate denying a woman the right to control what goes on with her own body (even in the case of rape and incest), you’re forgiven and conservative. If you fight for women’s rights, including equal pay for equal work, hold personal “pro- life” views, but honor a woman’s right to choose, co-sponsor legislation to reimburse sexual assault victims for their expenses under the Illinois Crime Victims Compensation Act, you’re liberal and free spending. If you claim you’re an advocate for children with special needs, yet place the life of your own special needs child in jeopardy and cut the Special Olympics budget in your state by 50% this very fiscal year, you’re able to make business decisions. If your wife is a Harvard educated lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's. If your husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable. If you’re a fit 47 year-old you are too young to serve as U.S. President. If you’re 72 years-old, have been classified as 100% disabled by the federal government, have suffered four bouts of Stage IIA melanoma, which carries an average 10-year survival rate of 66 percent and are only two years away from reaching that critical threshold, you’re ready to serve the country. OK, much clearer now.

Cali, Did you draft all that yourself or did you just copy and paste? You're probably a libnut aren't you? Oh, by the way. Why, during the debate, did Obama keep saying, "Senator McCain is correct..." Sounds kind of telling doesn't it? Drudge Report poll has McCain at 68%, Obama 30%

Well said! I also believe Obama's specialty is Constitutional Law....WOW it would be great to have a President to remember what that is. Obama won hands down last night, and presented himself as eloquent, intelligent, knowledgable, and Presidential. McCain on the other hand appeared arrogant, childish, rude, angry, irritable, and impulsive. He showed many symptoms of DEMENTIA. Obama dealth with McCain's behavior, and lies with grace, and dignity.

This is idiotic. They poll people in the inner cities in the middle of the day. Now who would be sitting around at their house at 12:00 on a Monday in the inner city? Shall we say...Obama voters? Most other poles show McCain winning. The Dish Network poll I just looked at gives McCain a 52% edge. So when people who work for a living and might be able to look at issues seem to be voting McCain.

The old war hero thing is wearing thin and old. Since people keep bringing it up....McCain's co-prisoners have came out reporting that while imprisioned McCain made 32 propaganda tapes for the VietCong. Their have been other allegations that McCain has a lot to hide from his years as a POW. Without said, even as a war hero that does not qualify a person to be President. In fact, I see it as a downfall. McCain is a warrior, not a diplomat. He is not Presidential.

McCain looked like he should have been in the "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial instead of a presidential debate. Maybe Wendy's needs a new "Where's the Beef?" geezer. He'd be great at that.
