Genre and what to do:
Sports. Welcome to Roman Bowl that invites you to teleport in Roman Empire and take part in football matches between barbarians and legionaries. Your task is to deliver ball to the opposite end of the field within five attempts. No matter whether it is offence or defense, you choose one of three given way of play, then pass, kick and run to victory and glory. After touchdown you need destroy the opponent's tower using a catapult. In order to hit more accurately you have three sliders that allow you to adjust angle, power and bearing of shot. There are two game modes: Exhibition and Playoff Game. Exhibition Mode offers you to play quick game, where you select team ( home, visitor or spectator ), difficulty level, number of periods, and time of period. Playoff Game is that very mode, which keeps players longer in the game. Here you take part in championship competing with other team for a trophy.
Style and atmosphere inside the game:
Roman Bowl is a captivating football style game that features colorful graphics, diverse sound effects and march music. You see playing field from a side top perspective that resembles TV viewpoint. The graphics is far away from perfection but look solid and decent. There is crispness to the graphics that is refreshing: the interface is easy to navigate and there are no camera issues. The players are well detailed, they are dressed in clothing that suit the Roman period. While Roman Bowl might lack cutting-edge graphical enhancements like shiny helmets and sweat, the game still looks quite decent. The sound effects are appropriate; you hear sounds of football match, cheers of public and applauses. All in all, Roman Bowl is the appealing game with simple controls, variety of play styles, and decent presentation.
