AdvaMed's International department Staff Issue Assignments focuses on health care, trade, and medical technology reimbursement issues in Europe, Japan, and a few big emerging markets in Asia and Latin America. We work closely with U.S. and foreign health care and government officials, as well as other international trade associations, to promote the medical technology industry abroad.

Japan has adopted a new five year Action Program that will triple the number of medical device reviewers by 2013 and substantially improve review times in exchange for higher user fees. The program, which was negotiated with industry, will take effect in April 2009.
