Dave Knight at your service.

I'm engaged to be married in a few months and enjoying playing chess with my Dad (a pretty good former club player), in local tournaments and on ICC.

My favorite player is Alekhine.

Wow that profile is old, I've been married for almost 2 years now and I have a son named Marcus. I haven't played in a tourney in a while because of a dispute with my local director (probably my fault....oh well) but I'll probably get back into it again in the next year or two.

You know it's a sad feeling when I realize that I did all this work a few years ago and was beginning to get better only to quit playing for 2 years and forget everything I learned. It's the same thing with my money, I get some saved up and then go and spend it all. Such is life I suppose.

Cheers and good luck to all who read this!

MrMrsKnight: My favorite thing to play against e4. I'm a sucker for these kinds of openings, I actually believe that white gets the better of it in the Dragon but my personal favorite game was one as well. I don't know, it just seems like I've been playing it so long that it's kind of like ...

MrMrsKnight: I remember when I was in junior high I checked a book out of the library from around 1970 called "The Golden Dozen" about the 12 best players of all time. I can't recall where Bronstein was ranked, 7th or 8th I believe, but it was the first time I'd heard of him. I studied the 3

MrMrsKnight: So terrible. Certainly my condolences go out to her friends and to her family to all the people who's lives she touched. I also wanted to thank chessgames for making her player of the day and giving her the game of the day as well. A very nice tribute.

MrMrsKnight: I have his book "The Guiness Book of Chess Grandmasters", I absolutely love it. It's not much in the way of instruction but it does have some excellent stories to tell. I bought it almost 10 years ago, when information for me wasn't as free as it is now, so the pictures of ...

MrMrsKnight: My first instinct was 40. Bd5 exd5 41. Re8+ Nxe8 42. Rxe8+ Kf7 43. Qh8 followed by mate with the queen on g8 or f8. I gave up on it after I saw Ne5 instead of taking the bishop but since that wasn't played in the game I thought maybe my idea was sound. Does anyone see a way to ...
