If the king doesn't take the B, eg, Ka1 then BxR and if K retaks the B Q mate in C1.

On move 3 the Knight would take the Black knight, not the bishop.

well, if the king does not take the bishop,instead moves to c8, then white's profit is only two points. if the king moves to a8, it is a bad position for black.for example,1...bxc7,2.ka8....bxd8,3.nxd8...rc1.  then black has to deprive the protection of the mating square.
