Iain Hewitson has made an outstanding contribution to the Australian culinary identity. Through restaurants, books and television, and his ability to tap the food zeitgeist, Iain has earned himself an enviable reputation as one of Australia's most admired and respected food commentators.

About Huey

Everyone knows Huey: whether from his hugely successful cookbooks, his top rating TV shows as the face of Bi-Lo supermarkets, or from his outstanding Melbourne restaurants.

Born in New Zealand, Huey has been a Chef/Restaurateur in both Australia and New Zealand for over 30 years. Iain was first introduced to the industry by his brother, Don, who for the past 30 years has owned and operated a number of leading London wine bars and restaurants. 

Iain arrived in Australia in 1972.  He established himself as one of the country's leading chefs and for years was at the cutting edge of the Melbourne restaurant scene.  Huey has received both public and critical acclaim with his string of successful establishments including:

- The Lemon Tree
- Clichy, Fleurie
- Champagne Charlie’s Alphington House
- The Last Aussie Fishcafe
- Memories of the Mediterranean

Iain's TV work began with Healthy, Wealthy and Wise and its offshoot, A Cook's Journey.  Huey has cooked on his own and other Australian programs including:

- Huey's TV Dinner
- Never Trust a Skinny Cook
- Rex Hunt Fishing Show

Huey has been extremely successful in his cooking titles with over 300,000 copies sold. His books include:

Huey has received many awards and recognition:

- The Grand Master Compagnon of Beaujolais, 1995
- The Age Good Food Guide, 1990- one of the top chefs of the decade
- Charles Heidsieck Award for services to cuisine, 1986

He lives in Melbourne with his wife, Ruth, and their daughter, Charlotte.  He's irreverent, outspoken, likeable and larger than life.
