The teen convert to Christianity who ran away from her Muslim parents claiming they threatened to kill her is facing a new battle.

Rifqa Bary, 17, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer, according to her friend, Jamal Jivanjee, a Florida-based minister who talked with the teen Monday.

He said Bary has had two surgeries and is scheduled to undergo a third procedure Thursday. In an e-mail sent Monday morning, Jivanjee called on her supporters to fast and pray for the teen, saying her situation is "very serious."

Hundreds of thousands of Christians worldwide are expected to participate in the 10th annual Global Day of Prayer being held Sunday.

Founder Graham Power will host a large-scale gathering at the Newlands Rugby Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa, where the first Global Day of Prayer was held in 2001.

"People just have such an expectation," Power told Charisma. "I have such an expectation that God is going to do something really dynamic."

The man considered the "godfather of Jewish evangelism" has died.

Moishe Rosen, founder of Jews for Jesus (JFJ), died Wednesday in San Francisco after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 78.

Since it was founded in 1973, JFJ has been a leader in Jewish evangelism, with thousands of Jews embracing faith in Jesus as Messiah because of the ministry. It employs more than 200 missionaries in 11 nations and has distributed more than 50 million gospel tracts to date. 

The nation's largest coalition of Hispanic churches has announced a three-year partnership with prayer leader Lou Engle's social justice organization TheCall to Conscience to promote a national adoption initiative among Latino Christians.

The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), a network of 25,000 congregations representing 16 million people, said it plans to provide resources and training for each member church to sponsor at least two adoptions in the next year in hopes of saving at least 50,000 babies.

Contemporary Christian artists are hoping to help a Nashville, Tenn., church rebuild after massive flooding in early May destroyed its building.

On Tuesday night, singer-songwriter Brandon Heath and songwriter-producer Jason Ingram will lead the Love Your Neighbor benefit concert to restore 5-year-old El Shaddai Christian Church. The Spirit-filled Hispanic congregation's south Nashville facility was devastated when 6 feet of water rushed inside the church, forcing pastor German Castro to be rescued by boat.
