knit Bamboozle shawl - free lace shawl pattern
SUMMERTIME LACE SHAWL
A soft, lightweight shawl of bamboo & cotton for spring-summer wear. The elastic in the Bamboozle helps it keep it's shape.
Materials:
8 - 50 gr balls Crystal Palace
Bamboozle - a blend of bamboo,
cotton and elastic nylon.
(model shown in col. 2302 'baby blues')
Crystal Palace 36" Circular Bamboo Needle - Size 10
2 stitch marker pins
Size: 60 x 32”
Abbreviations:
K: knit; P: purl; Sk2p: sl 1, K2 tog, psso; WS: wrong side; YO: yarn
over
Instructions
Cast on 5 sts.
Row 1: K2, yo, K1, yo, K2
Row 2: K
Row 3: K2, yo, (K1, yo) three times, K2 (11 sts)
Row 4: K
Row 5: K2, yo, K3, yo, K1, yo, K3, yo, K2 (15 sts) place stitch marker pins
around center st.
(move the st markers up every few inches as you work)
Row 6: K
Row 7: K2, yo, K to center st, yo, K1, yo, K to last 2 sts, yo, K2.
Row 8: K2, P to last 2 sts, K2
Repeat rows 7 and 8 until there are 37 sts on EACH SIDE of center st.
Begin lace:
Row 1: K2, yo, K4, *yo, sk2p, yo, K3* to 1 st before
center st, K1, yo, K center st, yo, K4,
*yo, sk2p, yo, K3 to last 3 sts, K1, yo, K2.
Row 2: And all wrong-side rows: K2, P to last 2 sts, K2.
Row 3: K2, yo, K2, *yo, sk2p, yo, K3* to 5 sts before center st, yo,
sk2p, yo, K2, yo, K center st, yo, K2, *yo, sk2p, yo, K3* to 7 sts before end,
yo, sk2p, yo, K2, yo, K2.
Row 5: K2, yo, K6, *yo, sk2p, yo, K3* to 3 sts before center st, K3, yo,
K center st, Yo, K6, *yo, sk2p, yo, K3* to 5 sts before end, K3, yo, K2.
Row 6: K2, P to last 2 sts, K2.
Repeat rows 1-6 until shawl measures 27” at center.
End by working a WS row.
Edge:
Row 1: K to center st, yo, K1, yo, K to end
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Repeat row 1
Row 4: (WS) Knit
Repeat rows 1-4 once more, then Repeat rows 1 and 2 once more.
Eyelet Row: K2, *yo, K2 tog* to 1 st before center st, yo, K1, yo, K
center st, yo, K2,
*yo, K2 tog* to last 2 sts, yo, K2.
Hem
Row 1: Purl
Row 2: K to 2 sts before marker, K2 tog, K1, ssk, K to end
Row 3: Purl
Row 4: Repeat row 2
Repeat rows 3 and 4 once more.
Bind off loosely.
Fold on eyelet row and slip stitch hem in place.
