Wow. - MpenetrableTaco, on 07/24/2010, -1/+49Yes lady, they royally screwed up. We all know how broadcasts are independent to each block so that the next block doesn't get interrupted for anything going on in your block. You should totally sue. o_O
- bossm4n, on 07/24/2010, -1/+34Bob Ross? That was random. Was there a happy little tree on her TV?
- badqat, on 07/24/2010, -3/+34lol...that's one crazy lady.
Oh wait...that's redundant, isn't it. - gbudavid, on 07/24/2010, -0/+30Don't Hold back Lady Tell them what you really think.... After all It is all about ME
- Bloodwine, on 07/25/2010, -1/+29I can somewhat relate to her. I agree that people's safety takes priority over a TV show, but the local news stations take things to an extreme.
I've had shows interrupted for 15+ minutes because of a thunderstorm in the area. They would keep zooming in and out of the map, and then do a 3D overlay of the storm, and then do some overlapping circle diagrams. Then sometimes they would show some charts and graphs. Then go back to zooming in and out. I wonder how much local TV stations blow on their weather display systems. "NOW WITH FOX RADSTAR3000-XTREME!!!"
Then, when they go back to the regularly scheduled show, they would shrink the show to 1/4 of the screen and have the other 3/4 be a weather map, a few scrolling tickers at the bottom, and a bunch of stats being rotated in the display.
Half the time the storms were not even in the TV viewing area, but in adjacent areas. That is, the domain of another local news station. My local news station covers everything in the state and refers to it at their viewer area. They wish.
My favorite tidbits were, "Turn off all your electronics and get in a tub or basement. Stay tuned to us for updated information". Maybe I am one of the few people who does not have a battery-operated TV. - thoughtsonthis, on 07/24/2010, -1/+29I think she was a LITTLE angry. What would she say about the testing screen that comes on every now and then for the country!
- chadsexingtime, on 07/25/2010, -0/+20"its not near me".
Sorry ma'am, next time we'll make sure the tornado is closer to you. - Ghostwo, on 07/25/2010, -1/+20^-- What's really wrong with America
- wilc3685, on 07/25/2010, -1/+20To be fair, I live in Oklahoma (the caller lives in northern Texas I assume based on "Wynnewood") and the local news does interrupt programming for the entire night when it so much as rains. It is quite irritating at times, for example, missing the entire game 3 of Lakers/Celtics because there was a heavy rain storm that caused some streets to flood.
Now would I call in to complain? Probably not. But I don't blame her. You'd just have to live here to understand how much the weathermen get off every time a storm comes. - Minarchian, on 07/25/2010, -5/+21Obviously a member of the entitlement class
- mrquacker, on 07/25/2010, -0/+13Heh, yet another reason that getting shows off bit-torrent is better than watching broadcast tv.
- kennyklj, on 07/25/2010, -0/+12A couple years ago the ***** NBC affiliate in St. Louis sold out a half hour primetime slot to some new age bible church. Instead of watching a new episode of The Office, I was treated to a whole ***** half hour of old ladies talking about how their church is awesome and why I should join. The worst thing is that they didn't even show the new episode afterwards or even bother to air it.
Its the only time I've ever seen that ***** happen and I have no idea how they even got away with it. I'm sure NBC HQ would normally get pissed when its affiliates start selling out prime-time slots for infomercials, but whatever. I was beyond pissed.
/coolstory - JeremiahLaments, on 07/24/2010, -1/+12We must fight for the important things in life...
- ZombieSociety, on 07/25/2010, -2/+11You're what I call "the politics guy." Nobody likes him.
- allisonrose870, on 07/25/2010, -2/+10this user drops the C word and you jackoffs are all over my ass. I guess that makes you all a bunch of ***** then with no spine..
there, now I said what I feel and no, dropping the C word is not the same as her bad attitude. You F-tards need to get over yourselves. If I want to report users to digg for the C word, that's my prerogative. Mock all you want losers. - Paranor01, on 07/25/2010, -6/+12Obviously a member of the "it's all about me" selfish idiots that borderline full Palin retard.
- jc265, on 07/25/2010, -1/+7Redneck piece of *****.
- hoghug, on 07/25/2010, -2/+8Dear Ms Crazy *****,
Thank you for your thoughtful call. Per your request you will be assigned your own TV station which with show Criminal Minds marathons 24/7. If we hear of any foul weather that will specifically affect your house, we'll have Dave, your personal weatherman, slip a note under your door during a commercial.
Thanks again,
Mr Bigtime TV CEO Man. - i23Photography, on 07/25/2010, -0/+5They dun goofed
- Floydthecat, on 07/25/2010, -0/+5WHAT DOSE SHE MEAN "YOU PEOPLE"?
- punkcat, on 07/25/2010, -0/+5or use a ticker with the information.
- kevro, on 07/25/2010, -0/+4I think I just lost I.Q. points by listening to that.
- BrownPaper, on 07/25/2010, -0/+4Apparently it would be different if it were near her.
- arcooke, on 07/25/2010, -0/+410%?
Or more? - Paranor01, on 07/25/2010, -0/+4Probably thinks it's a hypnagogic control signal and scrambles for her tin-foil hat each time.
- danielttt, on 07/25/2010, -2/+5My play on your monicker was a jab. see I hit the target. My retort was to your nonsense of bringing Palin into this in the first place. I know I pissed all over your obama prayer cloth but the intent is to ultimately get you to think....I like the near impossible task. Oh, and yes, daddy says it's ok to be on the computer till bed time.
- Minarchian, on 07/25/2010, -4/+7An "entitlement class" can be either rich or poor.
But you have a huge hard-on for Palin so I understand how you see her in every comment. - misslindadee, on 07/24/2010, -12/+15TY One of the funniest things I have ever seen! OMG!!!!
- bubba9999, on 07/25/2010, -0/+3I just like how it doesn't hedge into commercial time. At least they have their priorities straight.
- kylemstevens, on 07/25/2010, -1/+4misslindadee: voted worst commenter on digg.
im sorry. - Browneye1967, on 07/25/2010, -1/+4Stay Classy America!!!
- nils, on 07/25/2010, -0/+3Quick, everybody go to her house and totally trash it. She is obviously angry the tornado is not near her, so we should oblige her.
- Sil369, on 07/25/2010, -0/+2jesus christ, just download it once on its on bittorrent
- WHITEGRIPES, on 07/25/2010, -2/+4"All through the day I me mine, I me mine, I me mine" - George Harrison
- Cerebron, on 07/25/2010, -0/+2Most of my local stations have subchannels running 24 hour news, but they still like to interrupt programming with dire warnings.
Why not just a subtle, non-intrusive bug letting me know I should check their other channel for important news instead of ***** up the show I'm trying to watch? - po43292, on 07/25/2010, -0/+2This is what Hulu or BT is for.
- danielttt, on 07/25/2010, -4/+6Hey paranoia This babe is a quintessential dumbass and she proudly voted for obama....she was directly targeted by the obama campaign and she's a known quantity; an easy mark.....and you know it. Hope and change dude.
- gkiltz, on 07/25/2010, -0/+2This is another reason why the cable and satellite companies need to start carrying the digital sub channels. Often, in those cases, the scheduled prime-time show will "roll over" to the digital sub channel. Most cable and satellite customers can't get it!
- dicepackage, on 07/25/2010, -0/+1I had a tornado the other week that had the EAS come on. While I support the EAS I would like to see an override option because I was watching the local weather report and it was constantly getting interrupted by their less detailed emergency broadcast.
- EmersonBiggins, on 07/25/2010, -0/+1burrdugg said: "***** you c***."
- allisonrose870, on 07/26/2010, -0/+1hardly not the case SS. but you paint me in whatever light you feel does you justice. I take a stand against the C word. period the end finished. you don't like it --too effin bad :-p
I hardly abuse the report button, but I do choose to exercise my right to do so on this particular point. so you get over yourself and your hatred of me, Mr Low Road taker...
now go and report me and call for my banning again you stupid hypocrite ... - smacksaw, on 07/25/2010, -2/+3I don't understand why they kept bleeping her when she was making references to her support of the tea party.
- youngceb, on 07/25/2010, -0/+1poor lady
- fuzzynyanko, on 07/25/2010, -0/+1And when they interrupt the programs, it's usually during the show and not the commercials
- urdogfarted, on 07/25/2010, -1/+2The -33 degrees in Boston was a bit much too!
- kevinthegeek, on 07/25/2010, -1/+2Mom?
