Attorney Says Radical Muslim Hacked Pro-Family Group’s Website

A Florida attorney who represented runaway convert Rifqa Bary says his organization's website was destroyed by a radical Muslim hacker because of his involvement in the teen's case.

John Stemberger, president of the Florida Family Policy Council in Orlando, said a hacker left obscene messages on the council's website Friday before disabling its back-end controls and erasing most of the data.

 

Christian Author, Historian Peter Marshall Dies

Christian author and historian Peter Marshall died Wednesday evening after suffering a massive heart attack at a gym in Orleans, Mass. He was 70.


The son of the late U.S. Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall and author Catherine Marshall, he was known for his writing on America's Christian heritage, including the best-selling books The Light and the Glory, From Sea to Shining Sea and Sounding Forth the Trumpet.

 

Wife of Gospel Artist Marvin Sapp Dies

The wife of popular gospel artist Marvin Sapp died Thursday after an 18-month battle with colon cancer. MaLinda Sapp was 43.

A licensed counselor, Sapp was administrative pastor at the church her husband founded, Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. She also served as Marvin Sapp's manager and was credited as executive producer on many of his recordings.

 

Florida Pastor Cancels Quran Burning

Florida pastor Terry Jones said he is canceling his planned "International Burn a Koran Day," claiming  the group behind the proposed mosque near Ground Zero agreed to relocate it.

Jones told reporters Thursday afternoon he planned to meet with Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind the controversial Islamic center, on Saturday. Rauf, however, denied that he had agreed to a meeting and refuted claims that the mosque would be moved. Imam Muhammad Musri, president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, told the Associated Press he offered to arrange the New York meeting but said no deal had been reached to move the Islamic center.

 

Prayers for Spiritual Awakening to Mark 9/11 Anniversary

Christians nationwide will mark the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks by gathering at their county courthouses to pray for God's mercy and a spiritual awakening in the U.S.

The third annual Cry Out America is expected to draw participants from every state and more than 830 counties. Grassroots supporters will pray from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at their county seats, repenting and crying out for revival in their regions.

 

Christians Seek to Counter Church’s Plans to Burn Quran

A Massachusetts Bible distributor says it will give away two copies of the Quran for every one a Florida church destroys Saturday during its "International Burn a Koran Day."

The Massachusetts Bible Society, also known as MassBible, said it would distribute the Islamic holy book at prisons, hospitals and shelters to counter what it calls "an act of hatred against Muslims and the Islamic faith."
