Can my gift recipient return or exchange a gift?

Gifts can be exchanged within 30 days of delivery for an Amazon.com gift card equivalent to the purchase price of the gift. We are not able to exchange gifts unless the item is defective or damaged. Visit Gift Returns and Refunds for more information.

Can my gift recipient return a gift item from a third-party seller?

Gift recipients must contact third-party sellers directly regarding return requests for items not fulfilled by Amazon.com. The seller's return policies will apply. Seller contact information can be found on the invoice or packing slip shipped with the item. Visit Gift Returns and Refunds for more information.

My gift card recipient has changed e-mail addresses or did not receive my e-mail gift card. How do I get it re-sent?

You can easily re-send an Amazon.com Gift Card. Visit our Gift Cards Frequently Asked Questions page for directions.

Can I provide a note to my recipient that will be enclosed with my gift?

When ordering items fulfilled by Amazon.com, the answer is yes. Many items sold by Amazon.com merchants also have this option. Visit Gift-Wrap and Gift Messages for details and directions.

Does Amazon.com offer gift-wrapping?

For items fulfilled by Amazon.com, you can choose to use the Amazon.com gift-wrap designed exclusively for our customers. Please note that some items cannot be wrapped because of their unusual size, weight, or shape. Gift-wrap restrictions will be stated on each item's detail page under "Availability." Items sold by Amazon.com merchants may also have gift-wrap available as an option.

What does the Amazon.com gift-wrap look like?

See what our all-occasion gift-wrap looks like here.

Can I gift-wrap a group of items?

It's not possible for us to group items for gift-wrapping. Each item in a gift order is wrapped individually, and a wrapping fee is charged for each item that's wrapped.

Why wasn't I offered the option to have my gift wrapped or to have a gift note added?

Many items offered through Amazon.com are shipped from and sold by third-party merchants, who may or may not offer gift-wrap or gift notes. Check the "availability" section on individual product detail pages to determine whether your gift order will be fulfilled by Amazon.com or another merchant, and whether gift options are available. Additionally, odd-sized or bulky items may not be wrappable. You may send or print a gift notice for any item, regardless of the merchant.

What information is included on a gift-order packing slip? Will my recipient see the price?

If the order was designated as a gift at the time of purchase, the packing slip will not display any prices. Each gift shipment is sent with a packing slip that lists only the following information: purchaser's name and billing address, items included in the shipment, and the gift note (if the giver enclosed one). To order an item and ensure it's designated as a gift, follow the information on Designating Orders as Gifts.

Why can't I track my gift order purchased from a recipient's Wish List?

For security and confidentiality reasons, we cannot reveal the full address of a Wish List recipient. This measure is designed to protect the privacy of our customers. Therefore, we do not provide tracking numbers for shipments to a Wish List address.

Why am I getting the message "This item can't be shipped to a Wish List or gift registry address" when I try to order a gift?

When a customer creates a Wish List or gift registry, they are asked whether Amazon.com may share their shipping address with third-party merchants. If the registrant opts not to allow their address to be shared because of privacy concerns, yet has registered for an item sold by a third-party merchant (check the "availability" section on individual product detail pages to determine whether your gift order will be fulfilled by Amazon.com or another merchant), the gift buyer must manually enter a shipping address for the gift. We suggest you contact your gift recipient to ask for their address directly if you don't already have it.

How do I add items to a gift idea list?

When you find something that would make a great gift for someone you know, you can easily add it to your Saved Gift Ideas for any recipient in your Gift Organizer. On every product detail page at Amazon.com, you'll find an "Add to Wish List" button beneath our "Add to Shopping Cart" button. Click the down-arrow on the right side of the "Add to Wish List" button to see all your Wish Lists and Gift Idea Lists, and select the list you'd like to add the item to. As you shop our Gift Guides, you'll see a similar "Add to" button under every item featured.

How can I let my gift recipient know that a gift is on its way?

If you go to your purchase history located within your Gift Organizer, under each item you've bought there's a link inviting you to "print or e-mail a gift notification for this item." Gift notification allows you to print or e-mail a large image of your gift (or an image of a wrapped box, if you'd like to keep the contents a surprise for now) to the recipient, in case the special occasion will arrive before your gift does. It's a customizable way to let them know you remembered them in time!

How can I link a Wish List to a recipient in my Gift Organizer?

Go to the Find a Wish List page and search for your recipient. Every Wish List has an "Add to My Gift Organizer" button in the left column, under the List owner's identifying information. When you click the Add button, you'll be asked whether you want to associate the Wish List with a recipient already in your Organizer, or to create a new recipient. As an added bonus, if the recipient has entered their birthday in their Amazon.com profile, this information will be automatically imported into your Organizer as well.
