Mathew: Yes, A"Silver Dollar" is $1 legal tender--But the old type legal tender minted back when the U.S. still used precious metals to back up the Dollar. This lasted in our coinage (dimes, quarters, halves)until 1965 when the fed started minting those coins in cheaper metals. Today a pre-1965 dime which is 90% silver (the"old legal tender") will get me $1.65 in today's fiat legal tender at an exchange! That's because today's "money" isn't backed by anything but promises from the FED,a cruel joke

To William: At least you are one of us few who GET IT. I Have a friend who has $140,000 kept in stocks,etc,--I keep telling her to cash them out NOW,and start buying silver/gold ASAP. She adamantly refuses to,complaining about the taxes she'd have to pay on what she withdraws. This drives her husband(my buddy)NUTS. I responded,"In afew years, you wont have to worry about paying taxes,'cause the currency you take out won't be worth crap by then anyway". I,ll show her this video-Will she see light?

Indeed just wish i had started earlier, but the great silver giveaway is still in fullswing only a fool would pass this up. I'm glad their are so many of them. They can only blame themselves especially after it has been explained to them at an elementary level multiple times. Value of paper savings has nowhere to go but down. The MoneyPower has the power to cause hyper inflation will/when the? They have already proven they will at least 4 times in US history. So the question is when not will.

Im living in Japan right now their currency started to head south around January, nobody around me understood stood why and still dont. As soon as i saw what was happening i put in my search, QE Japan, sure enough Japan just started massive QE it went from about 80 yen per dollar to 102 in about a month. Im still dumbfounded how people cannot comprehend bigger quantity less value, it really is at its core that simple. They also cant grasp that they have to pay the US's unpayable debt.

AGAIN TO MATHEW: Try this on for size. As was said in this video, not one gov. sponsered fiat currency in all of history has ever survived. Are we Americans so stupid/uneducated as to think it can't happen to us? Look what happened to the last great world empire-the British Pound Sterling-Brittain is busted. Someday,we may look upon our revered Dollar Bill as just so much wall paper--or maybe, if things get really bad,as toilet paper. For yourself? Buy as much silver as you can--now!

Oh okay, so the purchasing power of silver coins stays the same because you can always cash in the silver to a precious metals exchange for fiat currency? People are telling me that one silver dollar will only ever have the purchasing power of a dollar because it's only accepted as $1 legal tender.

Mathew,a smart banker(there are few)will gladly give you $1.00 fiat legal tender for your silver dollar-he may know that it contains 78/100s of an ounce of PURE SILVER- Then he can sell it himself to a precious metals exchange for it's REAL INTRINSIC VALUE. If the Spot Metals Value for an oz. of silver is,say $23.00,then 78% of that is $17.94 in fiat currency which he gladly pockets for himself. The more fiat paper is printed, the less it will be worth, resulting in higher nominal value for silver
