Global issues

Globalisation remains a dominant trend, with growing inter-connectedness of people, goods, services, capital and technology as well as increasing competition for natural resources. The pace and momentum for political cooperation and economic integration at a regional level are also accelerating, notably in the Asia-Pacific region, driven by expectations that this will improve both security and prosperity. These trends are placing considerable pressure on all countries, including New Zealand, to be more globally active and equipped for a rapidly changing and less predictable world.
