Belvoir St Theatre is an Australian theatre venue in Sydney. The venue in Belvoir Street, Surry Hills previously operated as the Nimrod Theatre, and was founded as "Belvoir St" in 1984 by Sue Hill and Chris Westwood.[1] It is the home of the theatre company Belvoir.

The building was purchased by a syndicate of people,[1] and there are currently 600 owners,[2] including noted actors, writers and performers: Robyn Archer, Gillian Armstrong, Peter Carey, Ruth Cracknell, Judy Davis, Mel Gibson, Max Gillies, Dorothy Hewett, Nicole Kidman, Sam Neill, Dame Joan Sutherland, Patrick White, David Williamson, Neil Armfield, Mike Willesee, Colin Friels, and Gwen Plumb.

Renovations costing around $11.6 million commenced in 2005 and were delayed in 2006 with the discovery of asbestos in the building's roof.[3] The theatre reopened in October 2006 with the Sydney season of It Just Stopped by Stephen Sewell.[3]
