Nepean Hospital is a 520-bed teaching hospital in Kingswood. Nepean Hospital is located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia.

Nepean Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Australia, treating over 54,000 patients annually. The Emergency Department is a modern, well-equipped, purpose built facility with an adjacent short stay unit. Providing world standard emergency care for a diverse case mix including paediatric patients, it is well supported by multi-speciality services including 24/7 Interventional Cardiology, Haematology, Trauma Services, Neurosurgery, Thoracic surgery, Urology, Plastic surgery, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Also on the Nepean Hospital campus are a Neonatal ICU, Tresillian Family Care Centre, Menopause Service, Nepean Cancer Care Centre, Diabetes Service, Rehabilitation medicine and the Wentworth Centre for Drug and Alcohol Medicine. There is 24 hrs access to a state-of-the-art 64-slice CT scanner and MRI services. Nepean hospital boasts a 14 Theatre operating suite, with 6 new operating theatres which were opened in March 2012. Nepean hospital's operating suite is a 24-hour service covering urology; gynae & obstetrics; colo-rectal; upper GIT; Facio-maxillary; plastics; thoracic; pain team; dental; orthopaedics; vascular; neuro; ENT; general; Some Paediatric; some endoscopic and Emergency/Trauma surgical specialties.

In the department, friendly and considerate staff members provide excellent emergency care. As a teaching hospital, there is an interesting mix of experience among the staffs, and there is excellent senior cover for supervision and advice in the department by consultants who have considerable experience in emergency medicine and nursing care.

The Nepean Hospital Surgical Wing was opened on 12 March 2012.

The hospital hosts a clinical school of Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.[1]

The first Penrith hospital was opened in 1860, containing 6 beds and was located on the modern day Cox Street.[1]
