South Korea is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.

Field hockey[edit]

Women's tournament[edit]

South Korea women's field hockey team qualified for the Olympics by receiving a berth and earning the gold medal from the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.[1]

Shooting[edit]

South Korean shooters have achieved the following quotas based on their performance at the 2014 ISSF World Shooting Championships.[2]

  • Men's 50 m rifle 3 positions – 1 quota place (Han Jin-seop)
  • Men's 50 m rifle prone – 1 quota place (Kim Hak-man)
  • Men's 10 m air rifle – 1 quota place (Kim Sang-do)
  • Men's 10 m pistol – 1 quota places (Lee Dae-Myung)
  • Men's 50 m pistol – 2 quota places (Jin Jong-oh, Park Dae-hun)
  • Men's 25 m rapid fire pistol – 2 quota places (Kim Jun-hong, Song Jong-ho)
  • Women's 25 m pistol – 1 quota place (Kim Jang-mi)
  • Women's 10 m air pistol – 2 quota places (Jung Jee-hae, Kwak Jung-hye)
  • Women's 50 m rifle 3 positions – 1 quota place (Yoo Seo-young)

Swimming[edit]

South Korean swimmers have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following events (up to a maximum of 2 swimmers in each event at the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT), and potentially 1 at the Olympic Selection Time (OST)):[3][4]
