Help with PDF files

Our publications are available in Portable Document Format (PDF) and can be read with Adobe Acrobat® or with Adobe Reader®, which is available free of charge from Adobe Systems Inc.

If you are unable to open or read a PDF file after downloading it, please check that you are using a recent version of Adobe Acrobat® or Adobe Reader®.

If you continue to have problems downloading PDF files, please check for the following:

PDF files may be downloaded and saved on your computer's hard drive so that you can read or print them at your leisure. To do this in Internet Explorer on the Windows platform, right-click the link and choose "Save Target As …" from the menu that will appear; on the Mac platform, click and hold on the link.

  • The file is not being blocked by a firewall or virus software
  • The operating system installed on your computer supports Adobe software
  • The browser installed on your computer downloaded the file successfully

Saving PDF files to your computer

Our PDF files have been optimized for digital viewing and may be opened within most browsers if the correct plug-in has been installed and configured. To view PDF files in your browser, click once on the link.

Viewing PDF files in your browser

Using a non-PostScript driver and printer may cause problems printing PDF files. If possible, choose a PostScript driver and use a printer that supports PostScript.
