Want to travel to Vancouver and take part in lively discussions about the most critical issues of the day with leading policy experts?

Apply for a bursary to attend a Vancouver public policy student seminar for FREE

The Fraser Institute offers a limited number of Travel Bursaries to cover transportation and accommodation costs for students wanting to attend an Explore Public Policy Issues student seminar in Vancouver. We offer two seminars in Vancouver each school year, one in the fall semester and one in the winter semester. If you are passionate about the economy, business, and critical issues of the day, join other students from across BC and listen to academics, community and business leaders address important public policy issues. Enjoy a challenging and inspiring day of discussion and inquiry while networking with like-minded individuals.

    Bursary Includes:

    • Airfare from the closest major BC airport to Vancouver
    • Return transportation from airport to conference hotel
    • Shared hotel accommodation on Friday and Saturday nights
    • Attendance at the Explore Public Policy Issues seminar on Saturday
    • Saturday morning breakfast, breaks, lunch and reception with speakers

    Eligibility:

    • You must be a student between the ages of 17 and 30 and currently enrolled in Grade 12, college, or university.
    • You must be a resident of British Columbia that lives outside of the Lower Mainland and Victoria.
    • If you are under 18, you must have a parent/guardian sign a consent form.
    • Please note you may apply for both bursaries, but are only eligible to receive one bursary in the school year. Please indicate on the application form which bursary you are applying for, or if you would like to apply for both (you have no preference which program you attend).

    To Apply:

The applications for the 2014-2015 travel bursaries are now closed. Information on the 2015-2016 travel bursaries will be available in the summer of 2015. The application deadline for the fall and winter bursary is usually in late September and all applicants are notified in early October.
