    Seminars for BC high school students in grades 7-12

    • free, one-day seminars that include lunch and snacks
    • fun-filled, interactive programs that encourage economic thinking

    Why Do People Behave the Way They Do? An Introduction to Economic Reasoning (grades 10-12)
    Thousands of senior students have attended this program that quickly “sells out” every semester. At each seminar, students are encouraged to apply economic thinking to everyday scenarios. From pop culture phenomena to hitting the “snooze” button on an alarm clock, from balancing a budget to saving for college, students will learn how every decision made is an economic choice.

    Economics is Everywhere! Applying Basics Concepts to Everyday Life (grades 7-9)
    This exciting new program is similar in format to our senior student program (above), but introduces economic concepts at a more basic level suitable for younger students. From a fishing game demonstrating incentives to group karaoke showing supply and demand, students will participate in a fun-filled day that shows how economic thinking can be applied to their everyday lives.
