REF Open Access

The Research Excellence Framework and Open Access

In 2015 the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) announced its Policy for open access in the post-2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). A key requirement of this policy is that all papers submitted to the post-2014 REF ("REF 2020") must have been deposited in an open access repository upon acceptance for publication.

In order to enable the School to prepare for the next REF, all researchers at the School have been asked to notify publications@lshtm.ac.uk of newly-accepted papers to ensure deposit in LSHTM Research Online. We are working to make this process as simple as possible, but do require some initial and immediate input from individual researchers at the point that their paper has been accepted for publication.

Please follow the simple guidance below immediately at the point that your paper has been accepted for publication. You co-operation is appreciated.
