Events at the Institute of English Studies

The Institute of English Studies runs one of the largest programmes of events in the subject area, ranging from one-day to week-long conferences, over twenty research seminars and several annual public lectures given by distinguished international scholars.

Further events include the annual London Palaeography Summer School, the London Rare Book School (LRBS) and the T.S. Eliot Summer School.

The AHRC National Research Training Scheme in English Language and Literature, Palaeography and the History of the Book (NRTS) provides opportunities for subject-specific research training to UK MPhil/PhD research students through established partnerships with universities and research centres across the UK.

The Institute endeavours to accommodate the needs of visitors with disabilities. Please contact the Events Officer directly if you have any queries or requirements ahead of your visit.
