University of London Screen Studies Group

The Screen Studies Group came into existence in 2001, in response to the spread of film and television studies across the University of London. In addition to courses within other departments, the creation of dedicated Screen Studies departments in some colleges and the appointment of high profile professors gave Screen Studies in the University of London a new impetus and an international reputation. The Screen Studies Group is one of the world’s largest networks of screen media scholars and a major University of London initiative promoting research, teaching and public debate across the colleges of the university. The group currently includes close to 100 members of staff teaching Screen Studies within the University of London.
