Electronic cries of desperationBy Times staff writer
© St. Petersburg Times, When phone communications jammed Tuesday and early Wednesday, people concerned about missing friends and relatives took to Internet bulletin boards with heart-wrenching stories and pleas for information. This is a sampling: Andy Rosenblum (on the 104th floor of One World Trade Center in the offices of Cantor Fitzgerald) was able to get a cell phone call out to his wife at about 1000AM saying that he and about 40-50 people were hold up in a glass enclosed room on the NW corner of 104. They had broken a window and smoke was coming into the room. There was a fire on the floor in the path to the stairway. They were stuffing jackets etc under the door to keep the smoke out. He tried to call back as her id said he had, but the call didn't go through. She tried to call him back to no avail. She said that his voice was becoming strained because of smoke.
