Mr. Garretson is General Manager, Governance Strategy in the Law Department at United States Steel Corporation. In this role, he utilizes his experience in the ethics, governance, risk & Compliance, and operations sectors to provide experienced corporate governance, ethics and regulatory compliance management. He has worked closely with organizations in the manufacturing, aerospace, and defense industries on complex enterprise-wide compliance program risk assessments, governance and ethics policy development, and advising senior executive leadership on national security matters, technology transfer processes and international trade regulations to support critical management
decision making related to the offshoring activity for defense services, high technology items, and the international supply chain. Mr. Garretson entered the private sector after the completion of a highly successful twenty year military aviation career, retiring at the rank of Commander, United States Navy. He received his B.A. from the United States Naval Academy and his M.A. from the United States Naval War College.
